What is Youth Programming?
At Community Youth Concepts, our youth programming is all about empowering students with essential life skills for success. Through engaging activities and educational initiatives, we equip young individuals with the tools they need to thrive in various aspects of life. Our programs focus on fostering leadership abilities, promoting teamwork, and building confidence, ensuring that every participant is prepared to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in their future endeavors.

CYC was founded by Amy Ostrander Croll and Lynette Wilson.
1.CYC’s first fundraiser at the Des Moines Arts Festival.
2.CYC’s first uVoice philanthropy board.
Stowe Heights Challenge Course opened for the first time, welcoming corporate and youth groups.
CYC began implementing Teen Outreach Program in classrooms by aligning this evidence-based program with curriculum standards.
CYC formed a partnership with ISU4U to create our Callanan Improving Tomorrow Group.
Our Story
Founded in 2008 by Amy Ostrander Croll and Lynette Wilson, Community Youth Concepts (CYC) is a mission-driven organization based in Des Moines, Iowa. By promoting positive youth development principals and best practices, CYC provides volunteer service opportunities and career-based mentoring to Iowa youth to improve their future successes as students, professionals, and active community members.
